(dolly 1)
I love making these dolls and I am really enjoying making these custom orders. However, being so busy making these wee people means that I have no crafting time for my own little people.
On the whole this is ok, I know over Christmas I am going to take a wee break and after the festive season there will be a lull and I will have lots of time to catch up on my 'at home' crafting then.
But this leaves the problem of what the kids will get for Christmas from us. I like to give them something handmade. I still have ambitions for making hotwater bottle covers/ pyjama cases but these will have to wait until I get all these dolls finished.
I really wanted to make some more playfood for our play kitchen. It gets much use but the kids are often cooking with nothing, just imaginary food. Of course this is fine but I would love them to have a whole load of gorgeous playfood. So, I thought etsy.

I found a couple of lovely shops there selling playfood but really fell in love with this shop (http://www.etsy.com/shop/MadewithloveUK and 'liked' it immediately.
The next day I had a note from Tori, the shop's owner, thanking me for my interest and saying how much she liked my dolls too, and was thinking of getting one for her own daughter in time to come.

So I suggested a swap and she agreed! I'm so delighted; Tori is making us a whole basket full of really, really beautiful food and in return I get to make her little one her 2nd Birthday present :-) I love that I can do things like this, it seems so right and good and what exchange should be about.
So here at the moment it is all about dolls and playfood, and it's all good!
(I know the two dolls are sharing clothes, one of them will have her own outfit soon and be for sale in my shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/UnderRainbows)
