knitting

Gosh, I've just realised how long it's been since I've done a post about any knitting. It all seems a little slower at the moment, and finding hands free time is rather tricky.
Still I finished the cardi I've been working on. It's my first commission, a friend of a friend saw Joshua wearing the same and asked if I would knit her one as a gift for an expecting friend. Needless to say I was delighted to. I'm charging 25 euro for it, which I think is pretty fair. I just love the yarn!

This is what's on the needles now.(Just a note about the needles, they are just fabulous. A really great, thoughtful gift from all my friends for my birthday (love love love).
It is a baby tshirt vest for Joshua. I got the yarn (masses and masses of it) from a jumble sale. It was an unfinished aran jumper that I will unravel, but there were loads of extra balls in the bag too, so you will see much more of this dark green. I'm loving it anyway! The colour just doesn't come out with my camera.

We found these knitted fish again. Bubs had knitted them for Benny when he was about Joa's age, and he's loving them as much as Benny did.

I also decided that it was time to move Joa to his cot, seeing as every time I got him out of his moses basket I was cracking his head off the top, poor boy. I think it looks snug, in fact I'd love to curl up in there with him! My dear friend made the quilts, she's made one for each of the children and Joa is using all 3 of them at the moment. He's really enjoying looking at the patterns.
Here's to some peaceful and long sleeps (well I can dream can't I?)

  1. Wow, you have had quite the busy week. Your oldest one going to school and your wee one moving into the cot. Your big girl looks so happy on her first day and your wee one looks so comfortable in his cot.

  2. I love love the rainbow sweater!!!
I also love the pattern for the tee shirt vest~ I am seriously thinking I will pull out the vest I started for Ezri and cast this one on instead!
    Joshua does look snug. :)
Oh, and I love your post about Rebe's first day of school, and she looks so adorable in her uniform! I always wished I went to a school that had uniforms- but alas I went to public schools and there was no uniform or dress code!

  3. Elizabeth: It certainly has been a week alright, but it's been really good! How are you? I've been thinking about you? Hope you're ok x
Melanie: I'm just finishing Joa's vest tonight, it knitted up really quickly and it does look cute! Rebe is very proud of her uniform but she is discovering a fe things tht are not so comfortable. Here all public schools have uniform, I wore a uniform too when I was in scotland. Sadly it is very expensive, but as we are far from well off we get a grant from the government towards that and the books we have to have which is great!
