This week at our
bake along we made pizza. First make your dough... 500g strong white flour 10g dried yeast 10g salt (if desired) 350g tepid water Mix all your ingredients together. If you're lucky, like my friends, use a
kenwood to mix all your ingredients, if not (like me) use good old hand power and kneed for about 10
mins until the dough is no longer sticky. Leave to rise in a covered bowl. Drink at least 3 cups of tea and eat 1 slice of toast and jam, 1 buttered bagel and 1 slice of zingy lemon cake, and chat....
when you're really full make up your
tomato sauce. We crushed some garlic into
passata and added a few drops of balsamic vinegar.
After an hour or so, or when your dough has risen to about double the size, break off lumps and roll out on a floury surface. Spread on the
passata and add
mozzarella (and any other toppings). Bake in a hot, preheated oven for about 20
mins.
Eat and enjoy :-)
Sorry I've not been blogging much of late, it's been a difficult week. The kids have all been under the weather with spring colds and coughs. We've been awake a lot at night making for a very tired and grumpy family. Thank goodness the easter break begins tomorrow and I hope we can recoop and recover and get back to our old selves.
That pizza looks tasty!
ReplyDeleteHope you are all feeling much better very soon, (I can sympathise with the lack of sleep & grumpiness but it's only me who is awake so I can't blame the children! Just late pregnancy wakefulness I guess.)
Hope the Easter break gives you all a chance to rest and recover xx

Hugs to you Laura, and here's to feeling better soon! We've also had a rough week health-wise. Spring is always the sickest time of year for us. . .
