busy Bubs days

Bubs is here! She arrived for a visit on Friday evening. We're so delighted that she's here! And we're having so much fun (and rest). A bit of dancing round the may pole on Saturday morning..
We had to make a celebration may day cake...

chocolate, cream and strawberries...mmmmmmm!

Check out the cake face! It's how I was feeling on the inside ;-)

Unfortunately the weather has been quite changeable with quite a lot of rain. However, rain means...
splashing in muddy puddles...

then washing your feet in a bowl of rain water before doing it again...

cuddles with a more rested mummy...

stories and poems with Bubs

writing practice with an expert

playdough

making lots of 'nails' (snails)

While I was making lunch today the kids took Bubs to the woods, they had a ball and came home baring gifts...
beautiful, delicate violets

bluebells

and wild garlic. In her bid to steal Hugh from me, Rebe and Bubs made some delicious pesto with it.

They sorted and washed the garlic leaves, then blanched them in boiling water for 20 seconds. They then whizzed this up with 100g of strong cheddar and 100g of walnuts and some olive oil.

Here's the finished product, waiting to be gobbled up tomorrow...
Don't you just love mummy visits!
