We have no less than 4 different book versions in the house, we have Peter Pan costumes and sweaters, our best day ever was a visit to Peter Pan on ice . Since Christmas she has been asking me to make her a Peter Pan doll. I promised I would make her one for her birthday which is tomorrow. Last night I finally finished him: He is about 16" and quite cuddly.
He has a waistcoat with an acorn button, very like the one I made for Rebe herself last year. The rest of his clothes are made from upcycled t-shirts of Joa's. His cap is also very like the one Rebe wears herself when she's being Peter.
He also comes with Tinkerbell. She is about 5" tall and has a little baby bunting type body. She has a little tiny knitted pixie cap which is stitched to her head and I used wool roving for her hair. She has tiny felt wings sewn onto her back and a little knitted apron.
Absolutely gorgeous!! I can see that being a well loved toy, and family heirloom.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a very clever mama you are, I'm sure Rebe will LOVE him and the beautiful Tinkerbell :)

Laura, What an incredibly beautiful Peter Pan and Tinkerbell! My children adore Peter Pan too and I have a little six year old who would be so enchanted with that doll! I am sure Rebe must adore him! So beautiful and a treasure forever!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful doll! The snapped on sword is such a great idea and how do you get those sweet rosy cheeks?
ReplyDeletethanks dionne :-) the cheeks are made with a little red wax crayon. I warm my finger then rub it over a red wax crayon and gently rub that into the little cheek. Hope this helps Laura x
